2016 Nissan Maxima Houston TX

Get to Know the 2016 Nissan Maxima a Little Better!

As if you needed us reminding you, 2016 is going to be an exciting model year for Robbins Nissan for a number of reason. There is of course the small matter of a totally new Nissan Titan, which threatens to teach truck lovers nationwide to speak the romance language of TurboDiesel. Then there is the case of our flagship sedan, the 2016 Nissan Maxima, which is itself getting a full facelift for the new model year. Just this week, Nissan released a list of exciting facets of this exciting reintroduction to our lineup, and we couldn’t help but be inspired. Here are a few of our favorites. 2016 Nissan Maxima Houston TXThe design was inspired by, of all things, the Blue Angels. Wait, what? According to Nissan, the Maxima’s designers isited the Nay’s Blue Angel jet fleet, crafting the wraparound design of the Maxima’s interior after the cockpit. The Maxima’s exterior also was lowered and streamlined, giing it “a little jet fighter to it.” Lower, lighter, longer, tighter. We know, this sounds a little like a Kanye collaboration with Daft Punk. (Bueller?) But in its eighth generation, this Maxima truly takes its dimensions in different directions this time around. Compared to the preious design, the 2016 Maxima is 2.2 inches longer, 1.3 inches lower, 82 pounds lighter and has 25 percent more torsional rigidity. (Hint: that’s the “tighter” one.) Did you hear that? Probably not. There is much to mention about the Maxima’s wonderful interior cabin, but perhaps the most obvious thing is what it’s missing: noise. The Maxima uses Actie Noise Cancellation (ANC) that reduces unpleasant sounds, much in the way that noise-cancelling headphones do. Combined with the laminated glass, noise isn’t an afterthought–it’s a neverthought. Then, with Actie Sound Enhancement (ASE), the engine sound from the terrific 3.5L V6 to make a pleasant sound throughout the cabin. An All-American Spirit? Although Nissan might not be the first automaker that comes to mind when you think of ‘Murica, the Maxima knows the country where its bread gets buttered. The 2016 Nissan Maxima is entirely assembled at Nissan’s facility in Smyrna, Tennessee, while all Maxima engines are assembled in the plant in Decherd, Tennessee. So, are you enlightened? The 2016 Nissan Maxima continues to fascinate us as well, and will continue to do so until it arries at our Houston-area dealership in the coming months.
